Alific is artist-producer Brendan Dane & he has a new single, “Like You”, feat Micah Pueschel & Micah Brown of Iration as well as Gary Dread & J Smiles of The Movement dropping Tuesday, Sept 16th 2014. Listen & pre-order it here…
Earlier this year, The Movement was on Iration’s winter Automatic tour and this is where the new single, “Like You”, was conceived. It took place over 5 weeks and started when Gary Dread had the lyrics & musical concept that he presented to Alific who was performing on stage with The Movement on tour.
Alific later produced, composed, sequenced and recorded the entire song in the van & at various hotel rooms during tour. J Smiles layered down some electric bass and guitar while Gary Dread recorded his vocal part during time off in Aspen, CO.
Once the foundation of the song was set, it was presented to Micah Pueschel & Micah Brown and both recorded their vocal tracks backstage on the last show of the tour while at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Both vocals were cut in the changing room, just before the show. Alific then spent the next five months adding more musical elements & mixing to the song.
“The Movement has toured with Iration around the US Twice” explains Gary Dread. “They are like family to me so it was a blessing to have Micah Pueschel and Micah Brown be a part of this song”
