On Sept 24, Ugly Lion will release their sophomore EP entitled Evil’s On The Rise. The boys from Dallas, TX have been touring through the mid-west and south, growing anticipation for their newest music. They will be releasing Evil’s On The Rise off their own label Roar Records.
Ugly Lion is a five piece, progressive reggae/rock band containing elements of hip hop and hard rock, and focusing on spreading a message of “rise up and revolution.” They formed in 2009 and have since been centered on a very DIY attitude that has gained them a nice following from extensive touring and self-promotion.
Their efforts have paid off and Ugly Lion has been able to share the stage with The Wailers, SOJA, Collie Buddz, Cas Hales, Tribal Seeds and The Mighty Diamonds. They have also performed at many reggae/rock festivals throughout the U.S. including Wakarusa, Bricktown Reggae Fest, and Bass Invasion at SXSW.
The band is also planning to go on full U.S. tour come 2014 with dates to be announced. In the meantime you can catch the fellas at their album release party at Three Links in Deep Ellum, TX on Oct. 5.
