The Pier Weekend Show Locator

After a day devoted to the celebration of love, this weekend is jam-packed with irie vibes! Bands stretching from the California Coast to the Northeast, the reggae-rock scene is flourishing this weekend.

Off in the snowy mountain tops, Colorado will be hosting plenty of reggae-rock bands this weekend. With all of the awesome theaters and venues, the scene in Colorado has been growing throughout the last couple of years. As the population of fans continues to grow, the bands continue to make multiple stops in Colorado. One of the bands touring through this weekend is Ballyhoo!, who will be there a couple days this week and weekend before cruising to New Mexico this Sunday.

The Pier hit up Ballyhoo! prior to this weekend’s shows to get some feedback about their Daydreams Tour. Lead guitarist and vocalist, Howi Spangler got back to us about how the band feels about their four consecutive Colorado shows and one on Sunday in Red River, New Mexico. Howi shared, “Colorado always shows the love when we come through. We’re pretty much gonna rock the shows hard and give everyone their money’s worth.” The Pier will be in attendance for their show at the Marquis Theater Friday night in downtown Denver, CO.

We had to ask Howi if Ballyhoo! is going to be playing any covers, collaborations with other bands, or any new songs. He told The Pier, “Sometimes we’ll pull a horn player or something up from another band if they want to jam. As for new songs, we’ve been playing a ton of Daydreams material. And even pulling out some old songs we haven’t played in a long time. We’re posting our set lists everyday and people have been loving it. It gets them pumped for when we come to their town. We’re always taking requests as well. I like having that connection with our fans.”

Ballyhoo! has some sick festivals and shows coming up soon following the Daydreams tour. The band will be rockin’ the 311 Caribbean Cruise, Warped Tour, and Bamboozle so this tour is the perfect place to prepare for these events. Howi continued on to say, “It’s great because we’re playing every night and getting really familiar with the songs, so when it comes time to rock with the big leagues, we’ll be tight and ready. Not sure if it’s possible to out-play the Foo Fighters, but we’re gonna try really fucking hard.”

With sold out shows, rockin’ tours, and great reggae music to spread the love, there is no better place to be this weekend than a show! So whether the venue is down the street or it’s time for a road trip, check out the Show Locator and catch your favorite band live!
