The New Year’s Show Locator!

Glitter, balloons, streamers, and reggae-rock are what we need for some New Year’s Eve fun! It is a weekend to end 2011, kick off the New Year and what a better way to do that than with reggae vibes, killer outfits, and our favorite bands! With that said, welcome to the New Year’s edition of our Weekend Show Locator!

On New Year’s Eve, there are some sick shows going on that all you reggae-rock heads need to jump on if you are looking for something awesome to do! SOJA is officially back in action Saturday night in Baltimore as the fans await their album drop next month on January 31st. Lead vocalist and guitarist, Jacob Hemphill told The Pier that the crowd can expect some “brand new collaborations, brand new songs, new arrangements, and a very special surprise” on the epic night.

On the opposite coast in Southern California, Iration, Seedless, and Micah Brown will be three hours behind SOJA on the countdown. Iration has some surprises up their sleeves with some new music to debut at the House of Blues on New Year’s Eve. Iration Bassist, Adam Taylor told The Pier “We’ve been in Hawaii for the past few weeks working on new music so we’re really stoked to debut some new material at the show.” Adam went on to tell us that, “Most tickets include a band ‘Meet & Greet’ so we also encourage fans to come hang out with us so that we can ring in 2012 together. See you guys at the House of Blues on New Years Eve!”

Back on East Coast time, Slightly Stoopid and The Expendables will be jammin’ the night away at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. The Expendables and Slightly Stoopid are just like most bands in the genre, a tight knit little family after about ten years of playing together. The Expendables signed on to Stoopid Records to produce some of their best work such as their hit albums, Prove It and self-titled The Expendables.

The Pier got in touch with Drummer, Ryan Moran, of Slightly Stoopid to get some feedback about the New Year’s Eve show & he said that he and the rest of the guys are stoked to be playing with the Expendables because it has been over a year since they have played together. In addition, fans can look forward to some onstage collaborations that evening as well as some new Slightly Stoopid music. Since Slightly put together their own studio, they have been recording music so the fans can be ready to hear some new tunes.

So wherever you may be when the clock strikes midnight, there will be shows playing from coast to coast, as well as around the world! Rebelution, Authority Zero, Dirty Heads, Pepper, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Matisyahu, and more will be celebrating the night with friends and fans at various venues. Ring in the New Year with some friends, your favorite artists, and some of that irie sound!
