Festival season continues as The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival celebrates their 21st annual festival, June 20, 21, & 22nd at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville, CA. This year, headliners include Shaggy and Rebelution…
Booneville is located in the heart of scenic Anderson Valley in beautiful Mendocino County and is easily accessible from the Bay Area airports.
Over 3 days, there will be 2 stages occupying more than 30 artists, including:
Sly & Robbie
The B-Side Players
Zvuloon Dub System
& more TBA!
What makes this festival interesting for fans, is that it will be less than 2 weeks following the release of Rebelution’s new album Count Me In. Fans are sure to hear newer material, live, blended with the classics. The festival carries a strong line up, with stand-outs by Barrington Levy as well as Tarrus Riley; who just performed for The Pier’s Live Acoustic Series. Riley dropped his new album Love Situation this last winter and will sound great sharing the stage with Anuhea, Sly & Robbie, John Holt and Morgan Heritage.
SNWMF boasts a festival that is very “family-friendly” with an extensive array of children’s activities, including arts and crafts, bounce houses, dance & music workshops, a festival parade and family and alter-able camping. The vendors are hand picked to provide an exciting selection of international cuisine and arts. The 2014 Festival Village will be offering foods, crafts and art from such places as Indonesia, West Africa, Jamaica, Ethiopia and India.
Advance 3-Day Tickets to SNWMF 2014 are available online and via mail order. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a paid adult. Limited on-site camping is also available for festival goers.
