Slightly Stoopid’s Kickin’ Up Dust Tour

Slightly Stoopid’s Kickin’ Up Dust Tour

Ocean Beach, California’s quintessential jam band, Slightly Stoopid, knows how to throw a party. Nearly every summer for the last decade, Slightly Stoopid has hosted the ultimate outdoor summer tour across the country.

The Kickin’ Up Dust Tour, or the lineup at least, has been in the works for over a year. Last summer, Slightly Stoopid posed the question to their loyal Ese Locos fan base, as Miles Doughty told The Pier: “Well, we kind of put an idea out there of which bands we thought we would like to tour with for the summer. We thought it would be cool for the fans to just put it up on the website like, ‘Would you rather us tour with Atmosphere or 311?’ Pretty much, ‘Who would you guys dig the most?’ We had our opportunities being explored through both avenues, and the fans spoke up. The package came together best for Slightly Stoopid, 311 and all the fans.”

This summer, there was no questions asked, Atmosphere was the number one choice, and now the confirmed act for direct support throughout Slightly Stoopid’s summer tour. If this is your first time hearing the name Atmosphere, the Minnesota based hip-hop group has released six full-length albums and 17 EPs in nearly 25 years in the music game.

Slightly Stoopid and Atmosphere will be on the Kickin’ Up Dust Tour from July 10th through August 23rd. Joining the two main acts will be Slightly Stoopid’s current spring touring mates, Tribal Seeds, The Grouch & Eligh, as well as Brooklyn, New York’s The Budos Band performing on east coast dates.

With past performers on Slightly Stoopid’s summer tour consisting of, G. Love and the Special Sauce, Pepper, Sly and Robbie, Rebelution, Cypress Hill and many more, this year’s rendition of the summer’s top outdoor music party has once again lived up to the billing.
