Slightly Stoopid spent much of the last few weeks on the road touring through Florida, North & South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky & Louisiana. But prior to that, Stoopid was inside their home studio, The Stoopid House, working with engineer James Wisner, aka J Wiz on a new album with hopes of a Summer Release.
The Pier received an update from Silverback Management that Don Carlos of Black Uhuru Fame has been in the studio with Slightly Stoopid working on a new version of Wiseman along with a new song called Marijuana.
Karl Denson & G. Love have also been in for some studio sessions to be featured on a track. If you didn’t know, Karl Denson is a funk and jazz saxophonist, flutist and vocalist from San Diego, CA. He was a member of Lenny Kravitz’s band and has co-founded and led The Greyboy Allstars.
In our Most Anticipated Albums of 2011 article, it was also reported that Barrington Levy would be making an appearance on a track. Whether or not these collaborations will be on the next Slightly Stoopid album has yet to be confirmed, but it’s exciting to see what the boys from Stoopid & their respective guests do in the studio together.
Slightly Stoopid & Sector 9 teamed up last year during the 2010 Legalize It Tour with Cypress Hill & Collie Buddz on some custom Slightly Stoopid boards. With a few left over, the boards are being used specifically for giveaways at the 4/20/2011 concert with Barrington Levy & Bad Brains at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
