Rome Ramirez, of Sublime with Rome, has announced that his debut solo release, titled “Dedication EP”, will be out on June 12th. For his first solo project the singer-songwriter joined forces with Fueled by Ramen Records, and an array of producers and songwriters, such as Benny Blanco, RoboPop, and The Futuristics.

Rome will perform tracks from his EP for the first time, at his live solo debut, slated for June 21st at Vans Warped Tour 2012 in Irvine’s Orange County Great Park. For fans wanting to hear something now, the EP’s title track is now available by clicking HERE.

The single was co-writtren and produced by Nate Ruess and Jeff Bhasker of fun., Kanye West, and Jay-Z. Rome describes the track, saying “The song’s about loving someone who is struggling with getting their life together and eventually having to move on.”

The single will be accompanied by a music video, that is currently in production, due out later in the summer. This EP will also be followed up by a full length debut solo album, expected out later in the year. Rome comments “I’ve been working on my solo material for almost a year now and I’m so excited to share some of the songs. This EP is a taste of my forthcoming album, and just a huge step for me creatively. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

In the fall of 2011, Rome Ramirez also told The Pier that following his Unity Tour with 311, that he was in production with 311 on a track. Whether this is something that is on a future release by Rome or maybe by 311, Rome Ramirez is certainly networking his talent with all of the right talent in the industry.

Here is Rome covering Amy Whinehouse’s Rehab right after her passing. DJ Rocky Rock had the sample to use and they recorded while on tour with 311. Rome Ramirez said you can even hear 311 sound checking at one point during the clip in the background. Not bad for something done so soon. It’s almost reached a half million hits and was even shown on TMZ. Enjoy (if you haven’t already).
