RAC on the song “Valley of the Scum”:
Heres what Ben Florine, the band’s Guitarist & Vocalist, had to say about this weeks Leak of the Week Valley of the Scum

“So in AZ, particularly in the west valley of Phoenix, there is a huge trend of dudes trying to look like tough-guys (known as bros to us) by any means necessary. Usually its done by dressing up in moto-x or MMA gear like Affliction or Tapout. Nothing but respect for the guys who actually dedicate themselves to these sports, but screw the posers who use it for fashion. It’s even more lame when they throw a mohawk in the mix and try to pick up on girls at bars. Mohawks are for punks c’mon! Either way, Thomas showed me the verses he wrote for this song, I threw in a chorus and it ended up being an anti-bro anthem. Thanks to the Pier for letting us give some clarification to the song!”

  • AZ natives RAC have been creating music together since 2004. By winter 2005 RAC was recording their first full length album, Lost In Paradise, at Lock and Key Records scheduled for a May 2006 release. Over the next three years the band would make its first ventures out of the state, seeing CA and NM while continuing to play in AZ. The release of Heavy was in May 2009 as the group were also featured on various compilation albums including The Pier Comp Vol. 1 & the Sense Boardwear Compilations. While continuing to play shows in 2010, Thomas O’Brien (Vocals and Percussion) was a fitting addition of a fifth member after making some appearances on Heavy.
