“From our 4th coming album “Pocket Dial Dundee” we’re releasing a new track EXCLUSIVELY through THE PIER called ‘influences’ feat Chali 2na from jurassic 5 that kinda tries to explain some of our varied influences. Like most people, we’re into all different types of music, but it’s kinda hard to say which bands we actually resemble and which ones we just like. some of our favorites are the beastie boys,the beach boys, the allman brothers, brother ali, the dust brothers,guns n roses, peter gunz, method man, crystal method, white stripes,white zombie, pink floyd, pink, wu-tang, wang chung, lil wayne,fountains of wayne and wayne newton. so yeah, its pretty eclectic.”

MTHDS Bio/Background:
MTHDS combines funk-driven rock, reggae and melodic hip-hop to create an incredibly unique concert experience. In other words, fans can expect Music That Heightens Different Senses (MTHDS). Formed in April of 2007, “The Methods,” as they’re more widely known, were drawn together by a love of music and snowboarding and began playing to world-class athletes, tourists, ski bums, gnarly shredders, hipsters, slizzes, and confused drunk weirdos that accidentally wandered in to various shows. Everyone leaving a MTHDS show is covered in sweat, hollerin’ at chicks and wondering where the night will take them next.
Since their formation in early 2007, MTHDS has supported acts such as The Roots, SOJA, 3OH!3, Talib Kweli, Ozomatli, the Living Legends, RJD2, Rusko, Major Lazer, Groundation, Greyboy Allstars, and have toured with Collie Buddz, Chali 2na, and The Expendables.
On top of their upcoming Winter Blackout Tour with The Expendables, Through The Roots & Fortunate Youth, MTHDS has also been confirmed to play 2012’s infamous SXSW that will be taking place in Austin, TX from March 13-18th. In the meantime, check the tour dates below for their Winter Blackout tour!
