“Let It Rain” Background:
Mike Love’s new album Love Will Find A Way was recorded at Soul Sound Studio and Studio Ala Moana in Kane’ohe, O’ahu, Hawai’i and was released on Love Not War Records. As the press release reads, the album title is also its theme, and it refers to the idea that unconditional love enables living beings to survive and adapt within today’s dire straits, particularly the challenge to ecosystems that climate change poses and the ascendency of corporations over citizens in many countries.
“People are hungry for something, and a lot of times they don’t even know what it is,” shares Mike. “Positive music that has messages of spiritual and social change can be a beacon for them in the darkness. That’s really the inspiration for all I do—healing. We need it now more than ever, myself as much as the next person. The music heals me as much as it does those I play for.”
In addition to contributing vocals, guitar, ukulele, and piano, Mike Love is joined by a cast of musicians on this album that includes Sam Ites on drums, Jon Hawes on bass, Keith Tsukamaki and Jorell Nacapuy on keyboards, Reggie Padilla on saxophone, Deshannon Higa on trumpet, and Kelli Heath-Cruz as engineer.
One of the stand-out tracks on the new album is “Let It Rain” that Mike agreed to give away for FREE download, this week only. Discussing the song, Mike told The Pier: “This is one of my Dad’s favorite tunes. It has a funky driving sound, and its about washing away the corruption and the industrialization our modern society has perpetuated and starting anew with a clean slate. The idea is that nature will reclaim what is rightfully hers in the end, and if we can go with that flow, we’ll survive.”

Mike Love Background:
Born and raised on the island of O’ahu in Hawai’i Mike Love is first and foremost a father and a husband and a son. A vegan and spiritual person, but not religious. Music has been an integral part of Mike’s existence since before he can remember. “I can always remember singing, just singing wherever and whenever, no matter how bad I sounded, I just always loved to sing. I played a few different instruments and finally settled down on the guitar at around 16. Soon after, I started writing songs… I wrote at least 50 before I actually produced one I was proud of.”
Mike Love has shared the stage with many artists: Groundation, Steel Pulse, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson among others. He has also collaborated with Paula Fuga, Jah Gumby of Father Psalms Studios, Bambu Station, Ooklah the Moc, John Cruz, Tavana and many others.
Over the past few years his fan base has grown immensely, gaining the attention and support of music lovers and musicians, around the world. “The support I feel, has driven me to work harder than ever, musically. I have crafted a live show that continuously draws in new fans and keeps the old ones coming back again and again.”
