KELLSA’s New Single: “Un Beso” Background:

When Tanya Moore at Moore Media contacted us saying we have to check out this new artist from Brazil who mixes Reggae, Ska and Pop to make-up a truly unique sound unlike anything else being celebrated by the masses, our interest was peaked and fulfilled when we were sent two songs to listen to. Those songs were “Shots of Tequila” and “Un Beso,”, both of which are the 2 latest songs from the up and coming songstress.

“Shots of Tequila,” which you can listen to below when you watch the music video, was released in February and while we loved that song, we were most interested in featuring “Un Beso” as this week’s leak of the week.

Here’s what KellSa told The Pier about the song:
“Un Beso speaks of love and the way I feel when I’m in love; feeling sexy and spicy. Us Latins, we are very passionate, sexual beings and it was important to me, that I reflect the way we sweetly love in a song. To keep the flirting on the forefront, in a relationship, is quite important”

KellSa goes on to explain that, “in Brazil, we tend to say ‘ai ai ai’ for a lot of reasons and I wanted to incorporate that in my song, as it shows up in a feeling of expression. So where I write ‘come and give me a kiss, Papi, I go ai ai ai’ explains that very passion I feel with my man. I’m sure a lot of females will understand that feeling as well. It’s just one of those natural sensations of love we feel.”

“Un Beso” is the second and last single release, until her June 2016 self-titled KELLSA EP release. As the press release outlines, the easy-listening three-minute thirteen-second song is sung in half English and half Spanish, having catchy riddims, with a smooth, melodic island vibe.

The soon-to-be self-titled debut EP, KELLSA, will be a compilation of influences and sounds from her multi-cultural background, with a bit of pop-reggae, ska, rock and other worldly influences, delivering KELLSA’s signature sound and standout unique flair.

“Reggae music takes me to a magical state of mind. It relaxes me, inspires me and makes me feel powerful and confident,” says KELLSA. “I wanted to create a unique sound, that represented all of my influences into reggae and pop. Mixing the old with something new is what resonates with me. I love all things vintage and I love the old vintage reggae lovers rock. I love how the female singer from that era putted their hearts in the songs.”

Stay tuned for more updates regarding Kellsa and her upcoming self-titled EP set to drop this June!
