“Made In California” Background:
“Made In California” pays homage to one of Cure’s favorite loves – the Golden State’s locally grown ganja. The video was shot in Southern California and Jamaica and directed by Gareth “The Truth” Cobran.
“Made In California” is off Jah Cure’s new album The Cure which held the #1 spot on U.S. Reggae Billboard Album chart for 3 consecutive weeks. This was the seventh album for the Jamaican born singer. Having crossed into Hip-Hop, Latin, Pop and R&B genres with his last several releases, fans can expect to hear more variety on The Cure.
The Cure is entirely co-produced by Jah Cure, along with acclaimed reggae producers Christopher “Sketch” Carey, Clive Hunt, Llmar “Riff Raff” Brown, Justin “Jus Bus” Nation and Trevor “Baby G” Washington James. This album will is his first under his own Iyah Cure Productions.
In support of his new album, Jah Cure recently wrapped his European tour and U.S. fans can catch him aboard the Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise, leaving twice this year either on November 30 or December 5 from Miami, FL.

Jah Cure Background:
Born Siccaturie Alcock, Jah Cure‘s current moniker was bestowed onto him by the legendary Capleton. The symbolism was obvious – the singer looked young and healthy, well preserved as in “cured,” using the plants of the land for medicinal purposes. It was during this time that Cure became spiritually enlightened, learning the teachings of Rastafari and becoming a proponent of natural living.
Jah Cure hasn’t enjoyed the typical path to success, having found fame while serving an eight-year prison sentence for a crime he was not justly prosecuted for. His first three albums were released during his time at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston, Jamaica, which has a digital recording studio for inmates to use. Since being released in 2007, Jah Cure has continued working with his mentor Beres Hammond, and has become a married man.
According to Jah Cure, “My struggles made me who I am today. That’s why I sing with feelings, it comes from my heart ‘cause I feel the pain.”
With his incarceration now behind him, Jah Cure has been able to devote his full attention to this album, The Cure.
