“Down For Whatever” Background:
When illScarlett releases their new 12 track self-titled album on September 2nd, one of the songs off that new album is “Down For Whatever”. The group describes the song as a feel good summer jam that they recorded last time they were in Los Angeles, CA back in February 2014. The album itself was recorded in New York City at Avatar and produced by David Kahne (Sublime).
“Down For Whatever” was a last minute addition to the new album that was produced by Matt Drake and Swav Pior. What ended up being a last minute addition to the album, is now one of the first songs they decided to record a music video for. You can view the video below as it was recorded at a beach house the group visits every summer with their close friends.
Marc Roberge of OAR is set to appear on the new album, being featured on the song “Raindrops”. This is the band’s 4th full length album & first in 5 years. The group told The Pier: “…producer David Kahne definitely pushed us outside the box in a very positive way. There’s lots of diversity in the songs with a cohesive all around sound & vibe on the album.”

illScarlett Background:
IllScarlett was born when they named their own band after a local street in Mississauga, named Will Scarlett Drive. The band later altered it to ill Scarlett Drive as a prank. Formed in 2001 out of Clarkson, Ontario, Canada, illScarlett is best described as a pop infused Reggae-Rock band. They incorporate elements of Punk-Rock, DJ Scratching & Reggae.
They’ve previous released four studio albums with ILLP, Clearly in Another Fine Mess, All Day With It, 1UP!, and the forthcoming self-titled release will be their fifth. The new album will be their first since the September 29th, 2009 release of 1UP! and that album followed their July 10th, 2007 release of All Day With It which reached Gold status in Canada.
