It’s always exciting when a new group is set to release their debut record and such is the case with Oceanside, CA’s Fluid Foundation. The Socal reggae group will release their self-titled record on Oct. 8th while giving away the song “Foundation” away for FREE download…

Fluid Foundation “Foundation” Background:
Fluid Foundation carries themselves as a vibrant mix of reggae, dub, surf and hip hop. The album was recorded at 17th Street Recording studio in Costa Mesa, CA with producer Lew Richards. The album also includes a list of guest appearances that include Pato Banton, Micah Brown, Kevin Offitzer of Stick Figure in addition to Marlon Asher.
As for the song “Foundation,” the group tells The Pier: “’Foundation’ was written about two lovers laying out their foundation of love and their relationship built around it.”
Some of the lyrics boast “Plant a seed and grow as one…Out of love our Foundation”.
“It was one of the first tracks we recorded with Lewis Richards, and kind of set the foundation for the rest of the recording as well. It definitely has a positive vibe full of hope and love, so we made sure to keep that mindset throughout recording, and we think it definitely shows on the final record!”

Additionally, Fluid Foundation showcases its commitment to social consciousness with the track “Carefree” which features Micah Brown of Iration. The track was written to bring awareness about adopting pets from local animal shelters, and all proceeds from this single will go directly to the San Diego Animal Rescue. Additionally, Fluid Foundation has a merchandise line dedicated to the cause, ranging from tees to hats called “Rasta Paw,” where all profits go directly to the San Diego Animal Rescue. Fluid Foundation Background:
Fluid Foundation embodies its name lyrically and musically. The group is comprised of an eclectic group of musicians with intriguing pedigrees. The quintet is: Nathan Arriola on lead vocals, guitar, ukulele; Shaun Dubick on bass guitar, guitar, ukulele; Tony Saenz on drums, percussion; Rob Eldon with keys, piano, organ, steel pan; and Uke, vocals and composition. The group’s refreshingly eclectic stylistic swath encompasses reggae, electronic music, folk, rock, and jazz.
