“Jah First” Background:
Shortly after their performance at the 2015 California Roots Music and Arts Festival this past Memorial Day, Fear Nuttin Band contacted The Pier regarding their new single “Jah First”. Vocalist Prowla explained that “The drums were recorded at Nada studios in 2014. The rest of the song was recorded and mixed in April and May of 2015 by (guitarist/producer) Chris Regan at his Far Eye House Studio. It was mastered by Mike Caplan at Lion and Fox Studio while we were on the ‘Road to Cali Roots'”.

As for the song itself and what Jah First represents, Prowla continues on by saying that The title says it all; put the Creator first and good things will happen for you. Speaking from experience. Started from my creation of a way to greet people and remind them at the same time to keep positive mind and a clean conscience.”

The horns on “Jah First” are Hellman Escorcia from SOJA on saxophone and Yamuel Marcano from International Dub Ambassadors on trumpet.

Fear Nuttin Band will soon release a new album following this single titled Immigrant. Prowla describes “Jah First” as an appetizer for whats to come with a new record. Currently, Fear Nuttin Band has 4 total albums with 2003’s From Outta Nowhere, 2008’s Yardcore, 2011’s Move Positive and 2012’s Vibes Love Revolution. Immigrant will mark the bands 5th full length album and first in close to 3 years.

Fear Nuttin Band Background:
Fear Nuttin Band is an all original reggae/rock style band that is driven to write honest and real music. Comprised of 3 members from Jamaica and 3 from the United States, FNB has developed a sound that combines elements of Reggae, Rock, Hip Hop, Hardcore, Dancehall and Metal drawing on their cultural diversity to make the mix true and real.

FNB wouldn’t let the music industry dictate their fate so they went back into the studio on their own and recorded “Move Positive” which debuted at #5 on Itunes Reggae chart and featured 2 songs co written and produced by SOJA’s Jacob Hemphill, “Rebel” and “Standing by The Wall”. Move Positive also brought forth a guest appearance collaboration with Reggae legend Bushman on “Informer”

On election day Nov 6th 2012 FNB released their latest album “Vibes Love Revolution” which debuted at #2 on Itunes Reggae Charts and reached #8 on Billboard’s Reggae chart in between heavy hitters SOJA and Sean Paul. VLR has guest appearances by Stephen Newland from Rootz Underground, Hellman and Rafa from SOJA, Jordan Miller formerly from The Movement, and Germany’s rising reggae star Sara Lugo.

The band has been touring through the East and West Coasts and has made featured appearances at California Roots and other festivals. They have shared the stage or toured with like SOJA, Toots and the Maytals, Warped Tour, Streetlight Manifesto, Kanye West, Sublime with Rome, Pepper, Rebelution, Reel Big Fish, Steel Pulse and many others.
