Clear Conscience- “Eye Candy” (Feat. Eddie Blunt & E.N Young)

“Eye Candy” Background:

The song “Eye Candy” is from the 2011 release of Clear Conscience’s Love Vibes EP. The EP was a 6 track release that was array of guest appearances and is available on iTunes by clicking HERE. Here’s what guitarist/vocalist, Jeff McDermont of Clear Conscience, had to say about the the song “Eye Candy”:

“So this song was written as a fluke with Eddie (of High Tide) and I jamming in a studio recording tracks for the Love Vibes EP. I played some chords that had a real sexy “Island vibe” to them and Eddies band members Garrett and Dave started singing harmonies that set the vibe for me to make up with the chorus and lyrics instantly on spot. Eddie went outside for 5 minutes and wrote his verse and out came the beginning of this song. Eddie brought the song to a guy I hadn’t yet known at the time named, E.N Young.

E.N called me the next day and said ‘Bro you guys have something here, I listened to the song and I’m feeling a verse, you down?’… If you know Clear Conscience collaborating is our middle name. Later that day E.N sent over the track rough mixed with his verse and intro and we all about died. E.N turned into our go to guy and have connected with him since on other tracks, played shows together and are in progress of booking a mini tour with both E.N and Eddie so get ready!!

We are blessed to have worked with these great guys and look forward to so much more! Stay tuned to see us live near you soon!!”

Yeah have played this song out ….since purchasing the EP it’s featured on back a year ago or so haha. It’s cool to see they finally made a video for one of the song’s from the EP. Clear Conscience kill it and have some really great music. They’ve made what seem like a 100 versions of “New Love” which is a sick track, whether Josh Heinrichs is singing on it or Matt V. formely of Rebelution. I own pretty much everything they’ve ever put out, and have been itching for another full length record. Haha as a matter of fact we were blasting “Mr. Landlord” over the weekend hanging at one of my buddys places off the A1A in Miami who is getting ready to move. It was in rotation among many many other tracks, that and the Marley cover “Hammah” with P-Dub, which is such a sick freaking song. Jeff’s right as far as collaborating is their (his)middle name, as they have produced some of the best music with guest spots, as well as they have been guests on other’s records as well, or really I should say at least Jeff has been…. outside of lineup changes. Such an underrated more underground artist(s) in the reaggae/rock scene that could easily take the cake from so many others. F.L.A. giving much respect to our bud’s from the Bay in Cali.
