“Stinky Gorilla” Background:
We’ve covered Bag of Toys in the past as they had music inside our FREE MP3 Massive Section for a couple of years. When we were contacted by guitarist/vocalist Robert Tait regarding their 5th full length album, we were excited to share the news with the FREE download of a song to drive home the suggestion.
The song is called “Stinky Gorilla” and here is what Robert told The Pier regarding it’s origins:
“This song came about on a long, overdue trip back home last summer. I was kicking back on the porch surrounded by my stinky kids just thinking how F’ing awesome it was to be surrounded by family. ‘The Stinky Gorilla’ so to speak, is my son Hayden. This song was written to mentally take me back to that feeling and moment.”
Their newest album Eating Monsters includes 16 eclectic, head bobbing grooves written, recorded and mastered entirely by the band. Best way to describe the style is a laid back surf-rock sound with some subtle reggae influences written around the coast. It’s Smooth and fun.
