Out of Sacramento, CA comes Arden Park Roots, who is spending the end of 2013 finishing up their 4th full length album that will be due out sometime in February, 2014. Arden Park Roots – “The Music” (ft. Spice 1)
“The Music” Background:
There’s no title for their 4th full length album, but they plan to release it no later than February 28th when they leave on a national tour to promote it. The band is anticipating there to be 15 total tracks with one guest appearance that includes Spice 1 on this week’s MP3 Leak with the song “The Music”.
Speaking of “The Music”, here’s what Vocalist/Guitarist, Tyler Campbell had to say about the tracK:
“The song itself starts off with the line, ‘You can forget about it… I’m not upset about it. I’m trying to focus on this music and I really want it.’ I was going through a bit of a rough time when this song came to life and I just wanted to pay tribute to the fact that music had helped me through everything. I actually have 3 verses written but we heard that Spice 1 wanted to get on the track and we thought, ‘Why the hell not? that’s awesome!’ It turned out to be a great collaboration in my opinion. We actually have more to add to the song before the album comes out but we decided that we were comfortable with people hearing this early version.”
The collaboration took place at The Pus Cavern in Sacramento about 8 months. “It was… a few solid days of debauchery. Spice was here with his boy Shorty Mack and we spent a lot of time with those guys over the course of 3 days. They took us to Genuine’s birthday party & the next night, we headlined the Sacramento Music Awards where we were inducted into the Sac Music Hall of Fame. Spice and his entourage came with us and joined us for the performance of ‘The Music.”

Arden Park Roots has become a common name in the huge California rock/reggae scene, a scene rapidly spreading all over the country. It is evident as their tours continue to get longer and fan base and venues get larger. Their third full-length album “PIPE DREAMS” released in late 2011, made huge waves as these herbal advocates mix many styles to create a fresh new sound. It debuted at #2 on iTunes and has remained in the top 100 for over a year and a half. They have 6 major awards under their belt including three Sacramento News and Review “SAMMIES” for “Best Reggae/Rock/Funk band” and in 2012, they were inducted into the Sacramento music Hall of fame.
