“Cool it Down” is the first track on Truth & Love, and was the last song in the writing process. We wanted to start the album off with a bang, introducing our new 2nd vocalist, Justin Howard. Lyrically this song portrays a hard truth in love and relationships and its many ups and downs, which you will find is a constant theme throughout the album.”

77 Jefferson Bio/Background:
Joel Castillo, Miles Brown, Justin Howard, Kyle Crouse, and Richard Faught are Kansas City’s 77 Jefferson. They have molded a truly original style of reggae with lyrics about love, family, and humanity that people all over seem to be responding to. While writing, recording and promoting all of their own music, they have been touring for the last 5 years playing nearly 1,000 shows. They have played many national and local festivals and have had the privilege to share the stage with artists such as Toots and the Maytals, Lee “Scratch” Perry, SOJA, Passafire, J Boog, Luciano, Tribal Seeds, Sugar Minott, Junior Reed, The Meditations, Morgan Heritage, Fortunate Youth, Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds, Anuhea, Josh Fischell, Josh Heinrichs, Jah Roots, Cas Haley, and many more.
77 Jefferson has a new album that comes out May 6th titled Truth & Love with guest appearances by Fortunate Youth singer Dan Kelly, Eddie Blunt of High Tide, and Ikena Dupont of Cease Fiyah. Drummer and production specialist Miles Brown has produced all four of 77’s albums.
Subsequent to the release of Truth & Love,, 77 Jefferson will also hit the road for their first tour of the west coast. The GanJah records crew including Josh Heinrichs, SkillinJah, and Lance Sitton will also be on the bill. Seventy-seven will take a few offshoots from the tour and perform separately on select dates in California.
