Morgan Heritage’s “Here Come The Kings”

If you have been lamenting that the “Royal Reggae Family” Morgan Heritage have all but disappeared, dry your eyes because you’re in for a surprise! The Royal Family will be releasing their next album Here Come The Kings on June 11th via VP Records

The reggae children of famed artist Denroy Morgan include: Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan and Memo “Mr. Mojo” Morgan. The magnificent five have buckled down to produce their first album in five years!

That’s right Pier fans, the family is all together again and about to release a new album called Here Come The Kings.

Reflecting on the process of creating the new album, lead singer Peetah Morgan says it will, “stimulate the minds of the people and let them know what we’ve created, it’s real”.

Peetah also assures fans that, “We’re a lot more confident and mature than what you heard 5 years ago…the musicality of this project is attractive to the young generation while maintaining the uplifting content that we’re known for,” he adds.

While The Heritage family has achieved success as individual artists pursuing their own projects, it is their reunion that is bound to be celebrated. New powerful sounds and expert collaborations include: producer Lamar Brown (Notice Productions), Shane C. Brown (Juke Boxx Productions, Linton White (“Perfect Love Song”), and multiple Grammy nominee, Jason “J-Vibe” Farmer, Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett (“Call to Me”). Grammy-winning Jamaican icon Shaggy lays his indistinguishable vocals on ladies anthem “Loved Stoned”.

Morgan heritage successfully fuses roots, r&b, and a hint of dancehall, evident on the album’s first single “Perfect Love Song.”

In Morgan Heritage’s cover “Girl is Mine”, listeners can hear that while they stay true to Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney’s original, they manage to add their own dancehall flavor and singjay verse.

While they have pushed for a more modern sound, the value of love and respects is still the same. Gramps Morgan assures fans that they are all just, “delivering the message to a new generation”.
