Morgan Heritage Celebrate World Tour, Announce ‘Avrakedabra’

Follow-up efforts for Grammy award-winning albums can seem like a daunting task on the surface for most, but for Morgan Heritage, putting together their next album seems to have just been another day in the office. Reggae fans should set aside a reminder that on May 19, they’ll want to make sure they grab their copy for the new Morgan Heritage album – Avrakedabra – to be released via CTBC Music Group / Empire featuring 15 new tracks.

One of the many reasons Strictly Roots was recognized for being such an excellent album could be due to the fact that Morgan Heritage was able to Morgan Heritage Livecollaborate with some of the biggest names in the scene (including J Boog, Eric Rachmany of Rebelution, Bobby Lee Jefferson of SOJA, Chronixx and many more). Morgan Heritage appears to be continuing this trend in their forthcoming release of Avrakedabra, noting below that this round will include offerings of songs featuring Ziggy Marley and Stephen Marley, Drezion, Mr. Talkbox, a tribute track featuring the late Bunny Ruggs and several more.

Reggae fans are pleased with the fact that the band have already released a few tracks for the new album, foreshadowing the overall sound and vibe for the new record. Morgan Heritage had already dropped the groove-tastic single “Selah” several months ago -– go listen to this one now if you haven’t heard it yet — as well as the already-fan-favorite “Reggae Night”, which features more light-hearted, uplifting music with a guest appearance by DreZion to sprinkle in a healthy dose of hip-hop.

Recently, the group also offered up one more additional track building up to the release date of May 19 for Avrakedabra, “We Are” featuring Kabaka Pyramid and Dre Island -– an immediate banger which can be heard below! The song features some groovy instrumentals coupled with tasty bass-lines and solid vocal performances, adding to the enjoyment that already is “Selah” and “Reggae Night” giving fans the feeling that Morgan Heritage are picking up right where they left off from Strictly Roots.

Lead vocalist Peetah Morgan added some additional insight into the background and meaning behind the track:
“The statement ‘We Are’ makes is simple. The youth are the future! We are hoping to inspire the young generation to come together, mobilize and change the world for the better. The future belongs to the youth, and we want them to start at a young age on working to make the future of the world better for all mankind.”
