Jon Wayne & The Pain 2016 Winter Tour

Reggaetronic dub force Jon Wayne and the Pain is headed back on the road, bringing their undeniable live sound to a host of cities throughout the “MidWestCoast”. The band’s 2016 Winter Tour is an intensive 28-show run that will visit 11 different states, and showcase songs off the band’s latest album Surrender.

Jon Wayne and The Pain is a Minneapolis quartet made up of Jon Wayne (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Chuckie Torgerson (Bass), Teeto Miller (Drums), and early 2015 addition Weston Schick (Sax/Flute/Keys/E.W.I.). Wayne harped on Schick’s immediate positive impact on the band, explaining that “Weston has really filled out our live sound, and added a bunch of flavor and new ideas to our studio songs as well.”

Jon Wayne and the Pain have introduced an array of electronic elements, but their music is still firmly rooted in reggae, rock, and dub.

Their Winter Tour will see the group take the stage with a number of talented musicians, including progressive reggae mainstay Passafire, jam staple Tea Leaf Green, in addition to Nahko & Medicine For The People, the acoustic Americana duo Satsang, and Colorado local favorite Rastasaurus.

On behalf of his band, Wayne expressed their excitement to share the bill with some of their favorite artists, adding that: “it’s really fun when we can play shows with other bands that we’d be listening to anyway!”

The calendar will be jam packed for Jon Wayne and the Pain, as they circle around, hitting a new city practically every night. Their stretch through Colorado contains 8 shows in just 10 nights. “You gotta love touring,” says Wayne, adding that it helps “being comfortable with being uncomfortable.”

Fans may have noticed that the band’s hometown, Minneapolis, is absent from the Winter Tour. But Jon Wayne and the Pain are already planning 2-night stands in a handful of cities, including a pair of shows in the Twin Cities. According to Wayne, the band also has “definite plans to head East this spring.”

Jon Wayne and the Pain believe 2016 will be their biggest year yet. The band recently picked up a new “badass lighting rig” that will amp up their live performances to an even higher level. Also, be on the lookout for two new tracks in the coming months, one of which will feature a guest vocalist who was recently featured on The Pier.
