Groundation, getting set for a summer tour around North America, has announced not only upcoming show dates, but the initial details surrounding their next record, A Miracle.
After working in the studio through March and April, and between tours abroad and through the US, Groundation has finalized the details surrounding their upcoming record. Titled A Miracle, the 9th album for Groundation and follow up to 2012’s Building An Ark was officially announced in May, on Mothers Day with the statement “Our next studio album is written in dedication to the Great Female Spirit.”
Set to be released on October 10th, 2014, the band also unveiled the record’s album art, illustrated by Neville Garrick. Backing the art, a sampling off A Miracle, that contains a mash-up of six new tracks. Other details and the track-list have not yet been revealed, however Groundation has announced one feature on this record with Bob Marley singers Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths.
After performances at the 5th annual California Roots, Summer Camp Music Festival and other shows across Texas, Groundation is continuing on tour this summer. Titled the Coming Home 2014 North American Tour the run kicks off in Florida on July 17th. After three nights in the sunshine state, the tour travels up the east coast to Virginia for a spot at Floyd Fest before working up the coast to a show in Canada.
From there, the band heads to Loveland, Colorado for a show at the Arise Music Festival before taking a mid-August break. The tour picks back up on August 26th in Solana Beach, CA for a week of shows in the west. Groundation’s North American tour ends with shows the first week of September in Illinois and Wisconsin, based around the band’s appearance at the Shangri-La Festival on the 5th.
