25 years and counting, Fishbone is the Los Angeles bred and based band who has been cited as pioneering and inspiring the careers of everyone from Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Gwen Stefani (No Doubt) to Questlove (the Roots) and Chuck D (Public Enemy).

Through 25 red hot years of trailblazing through rock n’ roll history, 2010 rang in this landmark anniversary for the band with a critically acclaimed, full length documentary Everyday Sunshine: the Story of Fishbone, which debuted at the Los Angeles Film Festival, opening to rave reviews, highlighting the bands legendary 25 year career while showcasing many of the bands trials, tribulations, and ultimately industry wide adulation from all of the aforementioned rock icons as well as stars such as Tim Robbins, Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains), Les Claypool (Primus), Ice-T, Perry Ferrel (Janes Addiction), and DJ Shadow to name a few. The film is also narrated by Laurence Fishburne.

Following up on this recording, Fishbone returned to Los Angeles inspired themselves and hit D.O’ B Sounds in Sante Fe Springs, CA with original Social Distortion drummer Derek O’ Brien behind the boards engineering the sessions, just this past week and started laying down what is anticipated to be a 6 song EP. Although there have not been any official release dates announced for Fishbone in 2011, sources in the Fishbone camp have in fact confirmed that the band does have new material that they have written and are recording, and are anticipating releasing new music in the Spring or Summer of 2011.
