Easy Star All-Stars Announce New Album!

The ripe season for reggae music is already upon us, and what better announcement than a new Easy Star All-Stars record? Hailing from New York City, the All-Stars came together in 1997 primarily as a studio-set, but in 2003 expanded their musical versatility to a live setting. To this date they have sold over 300,000 units and have broken Billboard’s top 200 multiple times.

After the release of their first original full-length album First Light in April of 2011, The Easy Star All-Stars will again revert to their monumental tribute fashion with a new release set for August 28th 2012 via Easy Star Records. The ever-revolving cast of musicians has announced the release of their fourth tribute album honoring one of many famed musical icons. The question is—Who will it be?

After tribute albums to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead in the past nine years, the All-Stars will add their own reggae twist to yet another notorious piece of art. We will officially find out on June 12th, but not before giving fans the opportunity to win some pretty majestic prizes. By visiting their website, fans can vote on a list of possibilities and automatically become winners.

Out of 25 big-time releases over the last half-decade, The All-Stars will honor only one with their rendering. The list of candidates includes many big-names such as Prince, Dr. Dre, Parliament, Hendrix, MGMT, and many more. To find out the whole list and to cast your vote, click HERE!
