On January 19th, 2018, fans will be able to own Damian Marley’s Grammy Nominated album Stony Hill on Vinyl. The Vinyl is being released by VP Records and Ghetto Youths International.
The 18-track record was originally released on July 17th, 2017. It features a guest appearance by 19-year-old Major Myjah. It also features an appearance by Stephen Marley, who co-produced much of the record as he is featured on 3 different songs, including the albums leading single, “Medication.” The record debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart in July and will most likely take home a Grammy.
As for the vinyl, it is going to be manufactured and distributed by VP Records in a deluxe two-disc, colored vinyl set that will also include a glossy 48-page color booklet featuring exclusive photographs of Stony Hill landscapes and candid’s of Damian by photographer Brian Cross/Mochilla. The booklet also contains lyrics to all 18 tracks complete with full production credits.
Since releasing his Grammy award winning album Welcome To Jamrock 11 years ago, Damian has worked with Nas on Distant Relatives that was promoted by a world tour as he also formed a super-group with Mick Jagger and Joss Stone, releasing an album titled SuperHeavy. He’s presided over the production and guidance of the next generation of Marley’s with Jo Mersa & Bambaata Marley and with the Ghetto Youths Label. He’s found success with the Jamrock Reggae Cruise while guest appearing on Jay-Z‘s new record while also entering the cannabis industry with Stony Hill that is being sold in multiple dispensaries after kicking off in Denver, CO with TruCannabis. All that aside, Jr Gong is also one of 20 investors who acquired a 60 percent stake in High Times Magazine, its digital media platforms and its increasingly popular Cannabis Cup trade shows.
Needless to say, Damian Marley is a busy guy who continues to produce on multiple levels. He has a strong network and thanks to them, we can look forward to something as old-fashion as a deluxe 2-disc vinyl LP of his latest record Stony Hill on January 19th, 2018.
