Common Kings New ‘One Day’ EP & Opening For Bruno Mars

After being nominated for a Grammy with their 2017 debut album, Lost In Paradise, southern California’s Common Kings have followed up that effort with a new EP titled One Day. In November, they’ll be going to Hawaii to support Bruno Mars on a run of dates.

The group is comprised of lead vocalist JR King, guitarist Taumata CommonKingsONEGrey (T Grey), bassist Ivan Kirimaua (Uncle Lui), and drummer Jerome Taito (Rome). Originally from Orange County, CA -– Common Kings have been continuing their forward charge after picking up steam with their Hits & Mrs EP from 2015.

They’ve released a slew of singles since Lost In Paradise, but this EP will otherwise be their first collection of songs packaged for a release since their debut album dropped.

The EP is said to be consistent with their history of Rock, Reggae, Pop with Island flare featuring guest appearances by Stephen Marley, ¡Mayday! and Kat Dahlia. The EP includes 7 total songs including the titled track “One Day” which was actually the first song they had ever performed live without releasing it.

Discussing the EP, the group shares: “One Day is meant to be fun and crazy…like us! When you’re in a writing session with Kat Dahlia, purchasing 99cent street tacos with the quarters you found under the couch, while staring at a lottery ticket promising to share your earnings with everybody in the room, you definitely get inspired to write about the shit you wish you had! We hope our fans enjoy it as much as we do and we look forward to the rocking out with them at the next show.”

The EP is said to touch on everything from the American dream with the song “One Day” to the state of the world in “Revolution,” to the lust-filled love of “Slow Down.” As soon as August 10th and courtesy of Mensch House Records, you’ll get to hear the EP in full!

Common Kings will surely perform the new material while touring this year with Rebelution or when they head to Hawaii in November, opening up for Bruno Mars on a run of shows. You can find additional links and dates below.
