Ahhh the smell and now the sounds of summer are here with what is one of the best debut albums you will hear all year. Led by the dynamic MC NoNeedz, Close Enough wants to put a smile on your face and a shake in your booty.

Noize is a 14 track reggae meets hip hop concoction that could only be created by a Southern Californian band that is actually living the California dream. This vibe is no better captured then on the lazy Ain’t No Time and carefree stylings of Turning Things Around.

There is nothing overly complex about Close Enough’s music, but for those in know have always realized the best reggae has always been the type that is delivered simply. It also provides a foundation for NoNeedz to impress with his lyrical mastery that just murders it every time. Just take a listen to the pulsing title track (featuring guest vocals from 1DaBred from the Bredrin Daddys) and the catchy Sittin Alone where NoNeedz also showcases his amazing singing voice.

While NoNeedz is such an undeniable talent, Close Enough is by no means a one man show. Vocalist/guitarist Tony Jimenez is the perfect partner in rhyme with his catchy vocals hooks and proven song-writing ability on Ragamuffin Love. Then there is the contribution by Justin Jones bassist/vocalist and project producer (Paradigm Studios) who ties the whole album together with a consistent and vibrant production.

In all honesty it is hard to fault any track on the album, from the opening Reggae Style, with its funky bass-line to the closing campfire sing-a-long, Gone Away – every track is essential. On this debut it is certainly proven Close Enough is actually more than "good enough."
