MP3 Leak of the Week: Dela & The Aggrolites

Daniel “DELA” Delacruz, a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and producer, is also Slightly Stoopid’s horn section leader and a key contributor to their last four studio efforts. He’s put that skill to a debut record of his own that he co-produced with Karl Denson titled Opening Night. Brand New Single Released From The Late Sugar Minott

Lincoln Sugar Minott passed away July 10, 2010, in Saint Andrew Parish, Jamaica. He was just 54-years-old. He was known as a reggae singer and producer who started his musical career in 1969 in Kingston, Jamaica. 7 years after his untimely death and fans are able to continue celebrating his life and music with a brand new song that comes from deep within the archives with the track “My Love Zone.” (more…)

Video: DELA & The Aggrolites – Atlantic & Smith

Dela sax player for Slightly Stoopid and Karl Denson (The Rolling Stones) are set to release their debut album, Opening Night, on November 3rd via Stoopid Records. The duo have teamed up with LA reggae stalwarts the Aggrolites to create an 11-track galactic fusion of jazz and reggae that features numerous guest vocalists and performers. “Atlantic & Smith” is the first single from the record and features Angelo Moore of Fishbone. The album also includes guest appearances courtesy of Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, Rebecca Jade, Kyle McDonald of Slightly Stoopid and Jesse Wagner of the Aggrolites. Toko Tasi Releases New Album ‘Rise ta Shine’

Pepper Releases New Single “Good Thing Going” ft. Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid’s “One Bright Day” Video Art Raises Over $20k

Ocean Beach, CA reggae-rock mainstays Slightly Stoopid brought several stills to life in their music video for “One Bright Day” from 2015’s Meanwhile…Back At The Lab. Video: Slightly Stoopid – “One Bright Day” (ft. Angela Hunte)

What happens when art comes to life from the sounds of a beautiful song? Slightly Stoopid shows us in their latest music video for “One Bright Day” featuring the lovely, Angela Hunte. The song is from Stoopid’s last studio album, 2015’s Meanwhile…Back At The Lab. The animated video was done by Hawaii-based artist and aspiring pro surfer Danielle Zirk. What makes this video that much more special is that the with the video being comprised of visuals procured from large canvas paintings, the original art from the video is being auctioned, with proceeds donated to The Global BrightLight Foundation, providing practical, affordable solar energy solutions to rural communities that currently lack access to electricity. Video: Barrington Levy – “G.S.O.A.T.”

When a legend steps to the mic, you stop and listen. Such is the case with the new track by Barrington Levy as he boasts a new single with “G.S.O.A.T.” from his upcoming album Survivor. As the press release reads, the album is a collaborative effort among Black Roses Label, Stoopid Records, Platinum Camp Records, and Zojak World Wide. Survivor will be a follow-up to his 2015 Grammy Nominated acoustic project, Acousticalevy. Survivor will feature gripping collaborations by Grammy winning artist Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Beres Hammond and more.
The new single, “G.S.O.A.T.,” has come paired with a music video that was directed by Donovan Howard and filmed in Kingston, Jamaica across multiple locations that include such communities as Half Way Tree, Red Hills and Jungle. Watch the video as you’ll see cameo appearances by Sly and Robbie, Jah Screw and George Phang.
