In support of “one of the best albums of a four-decade-long-career,” as deemed by Rolling Stone, Beres Hammond has announced the One Love, One Life Tour showcasing his album of the same title.
Coming onto the music scene in the 1970’s, Beres had his first number one hit, “One Step Ahead”. From the 70’s and into the new millennium, Beres has had numerous hits including, “They Gonna Talk” and “Rockaway”, landing the artist a Grammy nomination for his album, Music is Life in 2002.
His reggae musical talent and smooth-smoky vocals has generated a strong international following as well as an overwhelmingly successful American fan base. Beres has had multiple sold out shows at large venues like, the Barclays Center, Theatre at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. Just this past December, Beres Hammond made his first U.S. television debut, performing with the Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Released November 11, 2012 by VP records, the double-disk-double-theme album, One Love, One Life quickly shot up to #1 on Billboard’s top 10 Reggae Album Chart. The first disk, One Love, has a lover’s rock vibe, while the second disk, One Life, has spiritually empowering vibes. Billboard describes Beres Hammond as, “A brilliant storyteller…Beres’ signature gut-wrenching passion summoned the soul of Otis Redding, the sensuality of Teddy Pendergrass and sweetness of Sam Cooke…”
These two separate themed disks along with Beres’ classic soulful vibe are sure to provide depth to the dynamic of the tour.
The One Love, One Life Tour will travel across the southeastern and northeastern regions of the United States with a few shows crossing the border for Canadian fans. The tour spans the month of August, but continues Beres Hammond’s musical legacy.
