Sidereal Bio/Background:
Sidereal is a band with roots in Jacksonville, Florida. Starting in May 2009 as a simple jam session, Sidereal steadily grew into something greater. The band started accumulating a full flavor of reggae, rock, ska and even hints of punk music.
After multiple performances in Jacksonville the band found themselves playing alongside notable bands including, but not limited to: Easy Star All-Stars, The Supervillains, Groundation, Passafire, The B Foundation and Mystic Roots Band among many more.
Sidereal released their self titled debut album, September 25th, 2010. Sidereal is continuing to plan and stage performances both locally and nationally, working to bring great music to their continually growing fan base.
Here’s what Sidereal told The Pier about the song:
“The featured song is called “Dry Eye” and was written about my little brother Lukas, our sax player. We chose Dry Eye as our download to submit because it is a song written about one of our band members. This member has the typical “stoner-persona”. His eyes are always bloodshot, he’s always relaxed, he plays music in a reggae band, yet he doesn’t smoke weed. This song is more than just a piece of music; it is a story with a meaning incorporated into it. The music sends waves of relaxation through the listener’s body, sending them into a tranquil state as they become hooked by the lyrics and reeled in by the music behind.”
