We just got some really big news yesterday... This new Philly station, Radio 104.5 (www.radio1045.com), is quickly becoming, if not already, Philly's #1 alternative music station. Yesterday, we were asked to perform live on the air Friday, December 7th @ 5pm. The following day we are playing at Grape Street in Philly w/ Ballyhoo. We get to perform one original song, Soul Thief, and one cover, Everlast's What It's Like.
Make sure you listen to them on Radio 104.5 and catch the Ballyhoo! and Three Legged Fox show at Grape Street, sounds like fun times.

Hey kids, you like that Jack Johnson type of mellow surf rock? Well following in his surfer turned muso shoes is Tim Curran. His debut album, Word of Mouth, is available for FREE download right HERE.
The album is coming out awesome! The songs are sooooooo good!!! you should hear them! I love them :) We took a break from the studio for a while to write some new material but we should be back in shortly. We are hoping to release the album sometime in Feb.
To all of our fans, friends & family. 880 South has parted ways with Aaron Liebelt on drums. We've had quite a run with him and it's a tough break for us all. We wish him lots of luck & fortune. Please check out his studio StreetNoiseStudios.com if your'e interested in recording in a professional studio.
The very same week Steve Shyshka decided to throw in the towel as well. Steve has decided to pursuit other musical endeavors and is still going to be performing with the Steve Shyshka Trio as well as a few cover bands locally. He'll be around and I'm sure you'll hear a lot of his work on our upcoming albums from time to time.
After 9 years or so of battling our woes, egos & shortcomings we finally decided it was best we all went our seperate ways. This was a HUGE blow to myself & Greg. Of course as well for 880 South. I got a few great offers personally & have considered the options of joining other bands or just flat out going solo. On the verge of implosion we have decided to continue 880 South and not let our hard efforts & dedication go to the pits of musical doom. We will not let you down. How can I quit the band that I started? It's just not in the cards.
We have not crumbled. Greg Medeiros & Luigi Casaretto are still working diligently on restructuring the foundation of 880 South. As the core songwriters this will prove to be a true test for them musically as Steve was an important key to the songwriting and arrangement of the music. We have decided to live by a new code. "Not living in the past". We are opening new doors so please do not fear. The sound will not change, it will just evolve.
We have now decided to openly "audition" for new band members. More particularly for Guitar but we're exploring options with Drums & Bass. We do have a few musicians we have been keeping our eye on, but we feel it will be beneficial to have auditions and see what else is out there in the world. Greg will be moving over to Guitar & Percussions as well as a more prominent role in vocal arrangement & performance. Something we've explored in the past but never made the transition because he was playing bass. There is a lot going on right now and we believe we can turn this ship around. The album is near finished & we have a lot to offer.
As of now Steve Shyshka will be performing his last 3 shows on November 10th @ Tres Gringos - San Jose, CA November 23rd @ the Catalyst - Santa Cruz, CA December 15th @ Toons - San Jose, CA
Sitting in on drums is Steve's longtime friend Nick Fishman from the Steve Shyshka Trio.
Also before any speculation begins. We are staying with Left Coast Boardwear for Management & Sponsorship. Nothing changes and they are fully supporting us through this tough transition. Nothing is changin for 880 South & anyone else affiliated other than a few band members.
So please hang in there with us. Come December we're taking a huge break to recalculate & adjust. We may not be playing shows until Spring, maybe & hopefully sooner if things do progress.
If you think you've got what it takes and you'd like to audition for 880 South. Please read my blogs on 880 South.com & Myspace.com/880south before you write us. We are not responding on myspace now because of all the spam & junk we have to filter through. Any questions can go to our email.
Thank you friends.
