For as long as I can remember, music has been instrumental in my life and it’s something I’ve always gravitated towards. Specifically, I believe reggae-rock helps channel positive energy into the world and it’s been incredible to see the genre continue to evolve and reach new heights every year. I’m a self-proclaimed live music junkie, having seen over 150+ bands in a live setting including artists outside of reggae-rock as well (favorites include 311, Deftones, Atmosphere, Rebelution, Incubus, Every Time I Die, Passafire).
Having minored in journalism at George Mason University, I’ve also been writing for as long as I can remember and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with the team at The Pier as a contributing writer to help share news, reviews and the overall essence of reggae-rock music.
Born and raised in the Washington DC area, I currently reside in Fairfax, VA with my wife Megan and our dog Chewbacca (Chewie) — we are way too into Star Wars. I’m always up for talking about music of all genres and I’m always hunting for and discovering new music as well. When I am not writing or doing anything music-related, odds are that I am playing basketball, spending time with our family and scheming new ways to get to the beach, trying to break 100 in golf or aggressively cheering on all sports teams in the DC area (Redskins, Capitals, Nationals, Wizards, GMU Basketball).
