Daniel Bambaata Marley is continuing to carve out a name of his own separate from being the eldest son to father Ziggy Marley and grandson to Bob Marley. The 25-year-old has dropped a new music video for his latest single “Waiting For The War”. With a civil rights message over a combination of dancehall and hip-hop cadences, the song speaks to standing up as the last of a dying breed trying to survive with love amidst the downfall of privacy and false prophecies. They just dropped their latest studio album One Of a Kind on August 14th, 2015. They have now released their second music video, a follow up to the song “One of a Kind” with a video to the new album’s final song, “The Rain”. The group told The Pier that the song: “The Rain came from the end of a relationship in which neither of us found a purpose. The Pier is extremely excited to premiere the Rare Breed Recording Company video for “Jamaica Bay,” the first track from the Live In NYC album by The Brooklyn Attractors. Perhaps one of one of the greatest collaborations in the third wave ska scene including members of Westbound Train, Stubborn All-Stars, the Rocksteady 7, Toasters, and many more. It is truly a seminal moment in ska/reggae/jazz history. Bringing a 10-piece instrumental group on tour can prove difficult and Rare Breed Recording Company has given us the opportunity to view the Jamaican Jazz-influenced, hi-fidelity, and sultry sounds of the New York based assemblage.
Rare Breed co-owner Obi Fernandez describes the unique record as “a monumental moment in reggae history. I’m so excited that we were able to document this particular moment with all of these amazing musicians all being superb at the same time.” You can purchase the complete Live in NYC album by clicking HERE! Enjoy the song & Video…
