Established in 2003, The Simpkin Project is a high energy reggae band from Huntington Beach, California with its own unique version of Jamaica’s most culturally celebrated music, reggae. Whether in L.A. Orange County, San Francisco or San Diego, The Simpkin Project has been captivating audiences one by one with their thumping drum and bass lines, powerful guitars rhythms, thick keyboards, striking vocal harmonies and positive message.

Moreover, they have been fortunate enough to share the stage with many of today’s legendary and contemporary reggae artists such as: Steel Pulse, The Abyssinians, Midnite, Bambu Station, Alpha Blondy, Pato Banton, Don Carlos, U-Roy, Cornell Campbell, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, The Dirty Heads, Rebelution, International Farmers and S.O.J.A. With two full length studio albums already under their belts, The Simpkin Project now looks forward to its third full length album scheduled for release in 2010.

Classic Music Video: Freakdaddy

A manifestation of mulit-cultural influences, FREAKDADDY was a band from La Puente, California, mixing its own style of rock, reggae and hip hop to create the signature FREAKDADDY sound. The band also featured the vocal talents of Alan Meade (No Doubt & Starpool) and Jim Perkins (Dumbluck).

This is a video for the song Hawaii Theater, turn it up on your speakers as the volume is a little low, but this track is definitely worth hearing!

Hailing from Burlington, Ontario Walk Off the Earth are comprised of three members, all with extensive backgrounds in the Canadian music scene – usually behind the scenes as writers or producers.

In two short years, the band sold over 2000 CD’s through their own label, SlapDash Records while sharing the stage with noteworthy outfits like Bedouin Soundclash, K-OS, Ill Scarlett, The Johnstones, and many more!

Interview: Zen Robbi

LA’s Zen Robbi has been unleashing its unique musical vision on the world since 2003. The funky rock three-piece is about drop its third album, Heavy Lies the Crown, on the planet next month, with a grand unveiling at its CD Release show at the Roxy in West Hollywood on Feb 12. The Dirtball joins the KMK

In a fantastic move stoners the Kottonmouth Kings have added the extremely talented MC Dirtball to its official line-up. Check out the video announcement below.

In a recent video interview with the band, the KMK said it has recorded a song with Slightly Stoopid and fans can expect it on an EP to be released this summer called the Sunrise Sessions.
